News News News

Hey all,

We've got some exciting news! After quite a bit of wrestling with the idea, Matt and I have decided to begin working on a sophomore album! We are in the studio now working on the first three tracks, which will be similar to how you are used to hearing us... as a trio. Then we are doing another 4-7 more as an acoustic duo! We are extremely excited about it, and will keep you updated as more information comes.

Also, we got our music video for Life Your Life back from the editing table and posted it in 720HD on youtube! Here's the link... (http://youtu.be/t99Ot0-wrlc).

Also, we finally have our online store running! Check out our facebook page and click on the "Store" tab... (www.facebook.com/postscriptband)

We've got a bunch of shows coming in the Indy and Chicago area, so keep your eyes and ears peeled! We hope to see you soon.

Big Changes for The Post Script

The Post Script has been going through a whirlwind of change recently.

First and foremost... Blain Crawford has decided to leave The Post Script. This was a personal decision, and certainly not because of fighting or ill-will. We will always love Blain as a brother and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Blain is currently playing with The Waldemere Revival. We know this probably comes as a huge shock to everyone, and it was certainly a huge shock to us as well. The truth of the matter is that even though the three of us are the best of friends (and will continue to be so), we simply did not have the same goals and motivations. These differences were holding each of us back from realizing our full potential. We have always understood this, and have been working EXTREMELY hard to reconcile them, but in the end it just didn't work out. As was stated earlier, we don't want anyone to think that there is any bad blood between us and Blain, and this decision is truly best for everyone involved. We are immensely upset to see him go, but can't wait to see what he has to show the world with his new band, and can't wait to show the world what we have to offer as well!

Secondly, because of Blain's departure, Matt and myself have sat down and given some serious thought to what we want to do and where we want to go with this band. In short, we decided to regroup and kick more ass than ever before. We will be doing quite a few shows acoustic until we find another member who fits into the group, but have no plans of slowing down... in fact quite the opposite. We have begun working with a publicist to begin working our music into college radio stations, and will be considerably more focused on the quality over the quantity of the shows we play. In fact, just this week we have been featured on the two biggest commercial radio stations in Indianapolis, Radio Now 100.9 and X103.

Third, at the request of Radio Now, we have written a Colts theme song that will be posted shortly to our website for free download. We had a lot of fun doing it, and it's truly hilarious. It is also being featured on Radio Now every Friday during Indy's #1 morning show, The Scotty Show. You can download the song by pasting this url into your web browser... (http://www.mediafire.com/?dbpr5a171amuk)

Lastly, since we are not going to be as focused on playing shows every weekend, we plan to write a LOT more music, and actually have two new songs already finished. We will be featuring one of them at this Saturday's Battle of Birdys performance. We play at 8:30, but get there early as the show is expected to sell out. We will be releasing an EP with three new songs on it this coming winter, and will let you know more details as the process unravels. We have already recorded the instrumentals to them (Careful Repair, Ordinary People, and Tropical Storms) and are just waiting on dates at the studio to open up to finish the vocals.

I'm going to end this blog the same way I started it... The Post Script is going through a whirlwind of change. BUT, what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger... and we already feel we have grown through this experience and want everyone to know that we are not giving up, we are not slowing down, and we only plan to move forward better, faster, and stronger.

Sincerely,
Abe and Matt

The Westfield Rocks The 4th Victory!!

Hey all,

As many of you may have seen on facebook and twitter, we have been crowned the Westfield Rocks the 4th Battle of the Bands champions! Sooooooo, we won a bunch of cash and some recording time at one of Indy's best studios... The Lodge. Long story short, now we can afford to fix our poor Suzy (the van) and get some AWESOME merch for you all to enjoy :)

We would LOVE to thank everyone who helped with the Westfield battle for making this possible for us, Kathy especially! Also a special shout out to Adam Ritz, Mark LaBarr, and all the other judges!

We now have the honor of passing the torch next year and playing as a headliner at the 4th of July celebration of 2011! Also, we will be headlining at NUMA, a arts festival held in westfield! Check out our Facebook page soon for more details!

What it means to be a band

I, Abe Shanehsaz, witnessed a true spectacle of music last Thursday. On May 27th, I witnessed a miracle. I saw an incredibly talented band play perfectly, to a crowd that was far too small, then get rained out. Whats better, was at this show where the cover was $10, and only maybe 250 people were there (this band is from Hawaii btw... so that's not nearly enough money for them to break even...) and the weather crapped all over their gear, they were not only still happy to be there, but continued playing!!! Any other band (and I can honestly say I've been guilty of this before) would have said... "FUCK IT!!! We flew out here, nobody gives a shit, and now its raining on us!!! We're done!! Sorry everyone... go home!" But no, they worked with the venue to move the show inside, and played acoustic for the next hour and a half with their fans circled intimately around them in what became a total basement party at the Rathskellar.

The band I'm speaking of is the Animal Liberation Orchestra, and if you haven't checked them out, you certainly should. (alomusic.com) The band consists of keys, drums, bass, and guitar, and everyone in the band sings. And they truly blew my mind with how far out of their way they went to make sure that their fans were happy. I was incredibly inspired at the odds they overcame with ease and still delivered an awesome show and were still happy and excited to be playing.

Kudos ALO. That show will never be forgotten by anyone in that room.

Pay It Forward With Music

Hey guys,
So I just had this cool idea. A good friend of mine was listening to Seasons Change in her car (pretty loud :) )when someone asked who she was listening to and where they could get a copy... she proceeded to give them HER copy in order to share The Post Script love! So I started thinking.... We want to start a "Pay it Forward with Music" campaign...

ANYWAYS, to make a long story short, we are going to start giving free CD's to anyone who bought one, and gives it to a stranger who wants a copy! All you need to do is write your story about giving away your CD on your facebook wall and tag us in the story! As long as the story ends up on our wall at www.facebook.com/postscriptband then we will get ahold of you about getting you another FREE copy!! Did you already give your copy away and don't have one? Still write the story on our wall, and we will get you one!

So, pay it forward, and give those CD's away... cause you can just get a brand new one!

Summer Time

Hey all,

It is officially summer, class is out, the class of 2010 is finished with school forever, and summer concerts are underway! The Post Script is pumped to begin booking the summer months, and will be announcing a SICK line up at the Rock Lobster very soon.

Otherwise, festivals, festivals, concerts, and festivals are coming back to the midwest!! With SpringFest already a huge success, Wuhnurth, Knollfest, and many more on the way... this summer is shaping up to kick some serious ass. Also, Verizon and the White River Lawn are looking to be pretty sick this summer too. ALSO, the Animal Liberation Orchestra (one of my all time favs) is coming to the Rathskeller this month on the 27th!!!

Of course, we are playing this Saturday at Lizards on the south side... check out "www.facebook.com/postscriptband" for show details.

SUMMER IS HERE!! CAN'T WAIT TO SHARE IT WITH YOU!!
